Positive: Space was exactly like the photos! For a couple, it’s sufficient in terms of space. We were particularly happy about the level of cleanliness. The low-rise building (we were on the 2nd floor) also meant that we didn’t have to wait long for the lift. It was also a very residential area but with a range of amenities within walking distance (from a traditional market to Burger King) so it was good to experience how it was like to live in Seoul for almost a month.

Negative: Property is south of the Hangang river in Hwagok-1-dong, so that meant that we had to plan our travel to more touristy areas, and that usually meant 45mins to 1hour each way on public transit (it also includes 13-15 mins of walking to Hwagok metro station Line 5). But considering it’s difficult to find a budget-friendly property north of Hangang, we felt this was value for money, since we were slow travelling and not stepping out everyday.

Positive: The property was beautiful, had everything you could possibly need. The location was perfect for us, in a very quiet spot with a cafe, restaurant and shop close by. The beach was only a two minute walk down the road and was absolutely stunning. The island itself is also very beautiful - would recommend a a tour with Sun & Sea Zante as lovely tour guides.

Negative: We booked a villa for privacy and there were a few visits from staff. However, they were very nice and polite and extremely helpful and only there for the upkeep of the property.

Summary: The best place weve ever stayed.
